I’ve been in private practice for over 10 years, working with clients to reduce the effects of stress, anxiety, low mood, depression and trauma in their lives and relationships.
I thought it’d be useful to share some of my motivations here. Having experienced trauma and mood disorders myself in the past, I’m fascinated by how much energy my clients and I would use to avoid the thoughts, feelings and sensations we judge (at some level) as “bad”. I get a buzz when clients realise just how much more energy efficient it is to accept themselves for who they are, while they keep moving towards what really matters. I gain satisfaction from seeing clients grow surer of themselves as treatment progresses, as we identify new options and they start making meaningful choices about where they want to invest their energy. These are the moments in session that keep me going and keen to support clients who are ready for positive change.
